Description of instrument: Cell-Free based production
The cell-free expression platform of IBS-ISBG is devoted to large scale production (milligrams quantities) of soluble proteins, membrane proteins and RNAs for structural studies (X-ray, NMR, EM, …) from S30 bacterial extracts.
Application:
– Small scale protein expression screening for feasibility and of reaction conditions for large scale expression.
– Small scale RNA expression screening for feasibility and of reaction conditions for large scale expression.
– Access to the facility for protein/RNA large scale Cell-Free expression, under supervision of qualified platform engineer.
Equipment: Users have access to dedicated lab space in RNase-free conditions, optimized protocols, home-made S30 extracts and enzymes, as well as consumables.
Description: Cell-Free bacterial expression is a simple, rapid and efficient method for producing soluble, membrane, hard-to-obtain or oligomeric proteins, as well as therapeutic proteins. And also, because the Cell-Free reaction is an open system, it allows the addition of plenty additives to help expression of protein intended for structural analysis.
