The Amino Acid Analysis (AAA) platform at IBS provides the scientific community with the ability to measure any protein sample.
This analysis consists in hydrolyzing the sample, separating the amino acids on a cation exchange resin, and after staining, measuring the absorbance of the compound formed at two wavelengths.

The protein sequencing platform at IBS provides the local scientific community with a service for sequencing samples delivered in-solution or bound to a PVDF-membrane (exclusively).
Amino acid sequence determination based on Edman degradation is performed using an Applied Biosystems gas-phase sequencer model 492 (s/n: 9510287J). Phenylthiohydantoin amino acid derivatives generated at each sequence cycle are identified on-line with an Applied Biosystems Model 140C HPLC system using the data analysis system for protein sequencing from Applied Biosystems Model 610A (software version 2.1). The procedures and reagents used are as recommended by the manufacturer.
